Local Cultural Activities and Sightseeing
There are many interesting things to see in the greater Tucson area. Several sights are listed below, but be sure to investigate the WWW guides and resources below if you have a particular interest, or are considering traveling to other locations in the American Southwest.

    Nature
  • The Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum is a nationally known natural history museum featuring the flora, fauna and geology of the desert southwest.
  • Saguaro National Park, located in the mountain foothills to the east and west of Tucson features large stands of the giant saguaro cacti.
  • Kartchner Caverns, a newly opened state park that features beautiful limestone caverns. The location of these caves were kept secret for over 15 years until they could be sensitively developed.
  • Kitt Peak National Observatory features guided tours of the world's largest collection of optical telescopes. For those interested in astronomy, the University of Arizona campus offers the Flandreau Science Center and Planetarium.
