Course Description

Classroom Project

These are examples of media created in and out of class.  Over the semester we were introduce to various software.  We were instructed to create "something" in each one of the programs. Below is a description of the program, a link to the training we received in class and the object(s) created by me during the course of the semester.

Photoshop
Photoshop is the leading digital image editing application for the Internet, print, and other new media disciplines. It is embraced by millions of graphic artists, print designers, visual communicators, and regular people like you. It's likely that nearly every picture you've seen (such as posters, book covers, magazine pictures, and brochures) has either been created or edited by Photoshop. The powerful tools used to enhance and edit these pictures are also capable for use in the digital world including the infinite possibilities of the Internet.

Illustrator
Illustrator is a vector drawing program. It is often used to draw illustrations, cartoons, diagrams, charts and logos. Unlike bitmap images that stores information in a grid of dots, Illustrator uses mathematical equations to draw out the shapes. This makes vector graphics scalable without the loss of resolution.

Garage Band
GarageBand is a streamlined digital audio workstation (DAW) and music sequencer, which can record and play back multiple tracks of audio. Built-in audio filters allow the user to enhance the audio track for recording guitar instruments, etc. The tuning system can also effectively imitate the auto-tune effect when tuned to the maximum.  This software is created by Apple and sold in the iLife package.

iMovie
iMovie is a proprietary video editing software application which allows Mac, iPod Touch 4th generation and iPhone 4 users to edit their own home movies.  It has the ability to make trailers for home movies, more control over audio, instant replays, flash and hold, facial recognition, news themes, and the ability to watch the video on a Mac, iPad, iPhone/iPod touch, Apple TV, Facebook and YouTube.
