Over the last ten years, I have acquired and developed skills in print, video and electronic media production. In high school, I was the founding print designer for "The Tower" at Brophy College Preparatory where I developed skills in desktop publishing using Adobe PageMaker and Illustrator. I was also the Editor and Designer of an anthology of poems, short stories, and art for the Arizona chapter of Students Against Driving Drunk. As a senior project, I produced a video on various social issues facing teenagers entitled "Videology '93," which was later used in several social justice classes at both Brophy College Preparatory and Xavier College Preparatory.

In college, I took courses in journalism and video production as well as participated in student media. At "The Santa Clara" I further developed my skills in layout and design as a section designer for two years. In addition to Pagemaker and Illustrator, I developed skills in Adobe Photoshop. I was a regular contributor to the newspaper and in my final year became the Features Editor. I was responsible for the weekly budgeting and assignment of articles, editing copy, submitting photography requests, and working with the section designer. As a communication major, I took courses in video production, where I gained skills in field production, linear video editing, and studio production. During the summer of 1995, I was a summer intern at KPNX, the NBC affiliate in Phoenix. I worked on the assignment desk as an Assistant to Managing editor. My responsibilities included news gathering and writing, processing press releases, assisting producers, reporters and photographers, and providing customer service.
