Research databases for in-depth discovery of controversial issues and up to date science information. Icons to connect to these databases can be found on the desktops in the library.
Other electronic resources on CD Rom, including electronic encyclopedias and standardize test preparation.
Access to the Internet for all students. They must show picture ID and have an Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) on file.
Word Processing available for student use with Microsoft Word 2000.
Services
Librarian teaches library research methods to classes of students by arrangement with the teachers.
These lessons include print and electronic search methods, the stages of research, and proper citation methods.
Library staff assist students on a 1-to-1 basis during and after school with book selection, computer use and research.
The library is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday and during the school day on Friday.
The Librarian will do research for staff upon request.
The Librarian will assist students with complex research tasks upon request with a focus on training the student.
Policies
Students, staff and community members may check out up to 6 items. More can be obtained with Librarian's permission.
Regular books can be checked out for 2 weeks. Reference books and periodicals must be used in the library.
The copier is available to students, staff and community members (with permission of the principal).
Student IDs are to be used to check out items.
Inter-library loan is in the process of being set up through the Apache
County Library.
