MODELS FOR WRITING IN THE RHETORICAL MODES

You may wonder why we write the various types of essays
in class that we do: personal narrative, compare and contrast,
argument, cause and effect, and process. These are some of the
main styles of speaking to (and convincing) an audience that
                writers use.

There are a few sites online that try to help
students understand the steps to writing well in these forms.

                                        Look at the example essays.

                                        We'll discuss them in class.

NOTE:  In many professional essays, you will find that MORE
THAN ONE of these techniques are used in the essay.
