Evaluation and Grading

Members of the class will be evaluated on the basis of their performance on each of the following areas.

CLASS PARTICIPATION and HOMEWORK (20%)

Active participation in class work is expected. Active participation includes the ability to listen thoughtfully to the ideas of others and engage those ideas in a thoughtful fashion. Class work may entail oral reports or discussion of assignments conducted individually, with a partner, or as a member of a small group. There will also be regular homework assignments.

INDIVIDUAL PROJECTS

1. Personal Web page (15%).
2. Curriculum Vitae (10%)
3. Professional activities (abstract, cover letter, works cited)(15%)
4. Grant proposal ) (20%)
5. The Book Review (20%)
