Nathan Ballantyne

I’m a doctoral candidate in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Arizona. I work mainly on epistemology.

My dissertation explores a series of epistemological problems that arise from thinking about persistent and widespread disagreement. I’m also interested in the history of philosophy, environmental ethics, metaethics, and whatever other topics I am co-writing on. (A welcome feature of philosophy, I think, is that it needn’t be a solitary business.)

When I’m not working on philosophy, I prefer to be listening to 17th and 18th century music, hiking, or exploring backroads.
