I recently defended a dissertation in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Arizona. In fall ‘11, I will join the Philosophy Department at Fordham University. During ‘12-‘13, I will visit Australian National University as a post-doc. I work mainly on epistemology.
My dissertation research explored a series of epistemological problems that arise from thinking about persistent and widespread disagreement, and defended a modest form of skepticism about controversial topics. Im also interested in the history of philosophy, environmental ethics, metaethics, and whatever other topics I am co-writing on. (A welcome feature of philosophy, I think, is that it neednt be a solitary business.)
When Im not working on philosophy, I prefer to be listening to 17th and 18th century music, hiking, or exploring backroads.
