Welcome to my new and ultra improved web site.
This new site is thanks to my ever so talented big bro, Dave.
He kindly distracted himself from what he should have been
doing and instead created this gorgeously blue and easy to
update site for me with all the facinating intricacies and
confusing quirkiness that is Davideo. (If you like the site
and would like one of your own, he'd be happy to design one
for you too...for a price of course. He's broke.) I've actually
hired him myself to create a super cool site for the lab that
I work in. The University of Arizona's Biochem Labs have a
pathetically drab array of websites and I'd like to remedy
that by destroying all the other sites with the Cordes' Lab
coolness. So...over the break, I'm sure that despite all sanity,
Dave will get bored when we are in Hawaii and want to work
on it. Thanks David for being a techy. Speaking of Tech, I
have a new goal in life, well sort of. Dave and I took open
water scuba diving classes as I'm sure you know, and finshed
the confined water part of the class on Sunday. Well, Dave
and I are studs so we blew through the class and our super
awesome instructor, Kevin, decided to teach us some free diving
breathing techniques and tell us about his incredibly baddass
tech-diving (as opposed to recreational diving) skills. Again,
being total baddasses ourselves, Dave and I after an hour
or so of instruction, tried holding our breaths under water
for as long as possible. We did surprizingly well, considering
we both suffer(ed) from asthma, and even bested our instructor
by hitting 4 min 44 sec for me and 4 min 57 sec for Dave.
And yes, that is underwater, no scuba, snorkle or other breating
aparratus. As I said, we are studs. Because we are naturally
good at this, and now love the water, we will hopefuly start
training with Kevin (instrucor) and maybe even join the US
free-diving team. Who knows, ya know...the sea floor is the
limit!
Enough of that. I am getting super excited for
my vacationing to start. We leave at 7am this friday morning
for our rafting trip with the paternal side of the family.
This trip, however, is eirily lacking in details. All I know
is that we are driving somewhere, I'd assume the Colorado
river, on Friday morning, then 9 days later I'll be back and
on my way to Hawaii. No, seriously, that's it! I don't know
where we will be, what we'll be doing, where we will go, how
we will sleep, how hot, how cold, how dangerous, how boring,
how wet, how dry everything is supposed to be. For goodness
sake, I was just informed hurriedly that I don't even need
a bathing suit. WTF!?! No bathing suit? Does that mean that
my Father's day plan/gift of pushing daddy into the river
is foiled? Regardless, he shall get wet. Shhhh, don't tell.
I know he doesn't visit the site, so it's a secret between
me and you. I suppose the less you know about something, the
more of an adventure it is. Sounds good to me!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO TIFFANY HOLMES!!!!!!!! SWEET
19, BABY. WELCOME TO THE BIG-LEAGUES!!! See you tonight!
Oh, and by the way, just so you know, the reason
that my news entry is so long, is because I am writing it
in my lab whilst I await the completion of the melting of
my protein. I am much more babblesome and alert when I write
these durring the day. :D Take care everyone!
