  Bizarro!!!

Bizarro bizzaro!!! Sorry, don't know what came over me. I guess talking to my bro just brings that out in me. I suppose since I am a complete invalid when it comes to updating my website I'll start from now and move backwards. In another few hours I'll be heading over the Beers' house for a party with my roommate(s), brother and friends. Ah yes, all is right with the world again. "To the Beers!" will once again ring from the Tucson night. I just got home from "drinks" with the lab. Being the only minor among 7 incredibly intelligent drunk people is quite sobering. I never knew that drunken conversation would lead to derivatives of hyperbolas. Don't get me wrong. I absolutely love the company. And if you don't believe me, check out my hours for this week. I was on campus for over 14 hours a day almost every day this week and in the lab by 6:30-7:30 every morning.

My classes this semester are definitely going to be demanding, especially my three labs, but all of my professors/TAs are super cool, so I'm totally excited. Speaking of excited, I am so nervous for applying to St. Andrews. Some people may believe that I have a bit of an ego when it comes to academics, but truth is I'm a total wus. I didn't apply to any out of state colleges after high school because I was afraid that I wouldn't get in. Yup, that's my ugly little secret, that I'm afraid that I'm not as smart as everyone thinks I am. Anywho, now I really have to prove my worth. Here goes nothing! So that should be done by the end of next week and I'll shut up about it until my little heart gets broken.

So, a little further back mi mamacita took Dave, Kris and me to Cozumel, Mexico (which is not in the Caribbean) to go scuba diving and check out the absolutely breathtaking Mayan ruins. We only got to go diving twice, but my god the coral was INCREDIBLE!!!! And the Crabs were ginormous! Like Hulk-huge. One of them was so freaking big, I wouldn't doubt that it would like to eat me for a snack. Over all, I don't know how I liked the drift dives. Maybe on deeper dives I would appreciate not having to use that much air, but because Mom was a little bit of a wimp, we ended up not going very deep so air wasn't a problem in the least. Suffice to say, it was incredible and I absolutely want to go back again, but this time I want to check out the freshwater caves called cenotes. They are all over the place there and sound so awesome. Just before we left, Kris and I took a little road trip back to Tucson to get my passport and check out Dr. Matt Cordes' gig at Club Congress. He was amazing and everyone was so into it. I say it's a good sign if you can pack the room. He has a totally awesome bluegrass voice. Rock on!

And a little further back now, Christmas with the family was awesome. I am such a sucker for being home. I have to say, though, that I kinda suck at showing my love sometimes. Even though a few of my gifts (all five of them) for a select few were super rad, I really didn't end up with the time to get gifts for everyone. I ended up letting the semester get to me and quite a few super deserving people ended up not getting gifts from me this year. I am making my formal apology. Please forgive my insanity and ineptness. I promise to make it up to you all! And to finish off, I will say a few words about the end of the Fall 2004 semester. I pulled it off, a close call, but I managed a 4.0 and to maintain my sterling record of 0 murders. And now it is time to head to the Beers'. Aloha all!
