Diablo

The Original

The original Diablo developed and published by Blizzard Entertainment and released just after Christmas 1996.

Sierra Games released an expansion Hellfire in 1997. This added a new class, the monk; as well as new adventures in the Hive.

The only real problem I found with the game is that on battle.net the PK'ers, the Player Killers, lusers who get the jollies my attacking other players. On a typical on-line adventure I would say one quarter to one half of all the other players will PK'ers. Basically these immature people just want to ruin it for everyone else. I seldom venture into Diablo on Battle.Net because of it. Blizzard had to spend a lot of time and effort to control this is Diablo II.

Diablo II

After playing Darkstone to stave off the Diablo withdrawals (sorry, but Darkstone is no Diablo), I was early in line to pre-order a copy of Diablo II Collector's Edition. The Collector's Edition in addition to decreasing your bank account substantially from the regular edition included a DVD with all the cut scenes, an Audio CD with the in game music (used it for atmosphere music for Halloween), and a mini Dungeons and Dragons adventure.

Blizzard's own Arreat Summit has all the latest information on the Diablo II world, including equipment, magic items and just about everything a good adventurer needs to know.

If you haven't played Diablo II what are you waiting for. Get the demo now.

While avoiding the problems of PK'ers that plagued Diablo, D2 is beset with cheaters, hackers, and other assorted lamers. These lamers are always clamoring for "free stuff" and "rush me." You can guarantee I will never give some one free stuff just cause they asked or will I let some luser ride on the coattails of my high level characters. Come adventure with me and you are sure to share in the loot, magic and experience.
