Tim's Computers

The first one is up and running. I finally got one of the machine's up and running. Problems with power supply, win98 installation, and onboard audio drives and win98 led to a much longer than anticipated construction time. The time that is down is my SETI@home times. It used to take an average of 83 hours 32 minutes for a work unit. It now takes less than 5-1/2 hours. Over 15 times faster.

I still have some tweaking to do before begining the construction of the second one. Once that is assembled it will be time for a little celebratory Diablo II. Then, time to start tweaking and overclocking to see what this motherboard, chipset, and CPU can really do.

Where are they now?

I order the last parts for the two new computers from Multiwave Direct on Monday Afternoon. Currently FedEx has the following tracking information. After those get here I will be converting the old computers into one Linux machine.
