COURSE OVERVIEW

S307: Data Management is a 3-credit, junior-level course that introduces students to the essential concepts in designing and implementing databases.  The course is required for all students in the computer information systems (CIS) major and an elective for other majors.  A course in visual programming (S205) is a pre-requisite to this course.  A course in management of information systems (S302) is a co-requisite.  S307 is on the critical path to graduation with a CIS major as it is a pre-requisite to S310 (Systems Analysis and Design), a required course for CIS majors, and S420 (Object-Oriented Design and Development), an elective course of CIS majors.
