Extra Credit Report Guidelines

Attending a concert and writing a report according to the guidelines posted in the Class Resource link is one way to earn extra credit.  If you work as a volunteer for the Tucson Meet Yourself Festival or usher for a UA School of Music concert, you may also earn extra credit (up to 20 points per activity; for a total of no more than 40 points for all extra credit work).

To secure those extra points you must write a report of the activity.  The concert report guidelines remain useful, since your reflection of any musical event can take into account the three components of Merriam's model: sound, behavior, and conception. Your report may be shorter than the 3-5 pages mentioned in those guidelines. In your report, try to identify what the main purpose of the event was.  Share what you learned regarding the work necessary to make such an event possible. Conclude by reflecting on the value of the event and what aspects you found most rewarding.

Make every effort to connect your observations to the issues we have been examining in class. As always, pay attention to the requested format and the criteria for good writing.
