General testing advice for the final: Be calm, answer the easy questions first and save the harder questions for later, Read ALL of the questions and answers before responding. Remember that the years from 1920 on will be the prime focus. Also, I am sure the exam will have questions drawn from BOTH textbooks.

5/5/2004 The review for the final exam will be held on Monday afternoon (May 10) from 5PM to 7 PM in S.Sci Rm. 222. University regulations limited our review session to 2 hours. I have also put up Dr. Dinnerstein's first two midterm exams from this semester with Dr. Dinnerstein's Formerly Used Final Exams. Dead Day is the final day to post on the web discussion board.

5/3/2004 The review will tenatively be held on Monday afternoon. Sunday is Mother's Day so I felt I should move it to Monday. I am waiting to hear from room scheduling; I should know by Wednesday at the latest. Final scores for the political simulation are available on the community page

4/17/2004 I have added a set of rules from the "We Shall Overcome" simulation on the community webpage Just in case there was any confusion, you do not have to any outside work for this exercise, although a little group planning and negotiations wouldn't hurt. Again, I want to remind students about the discussion boards and its role in determining your participation grade. Thus far, I have been very pleased with the results thus far. In case you wonder why I never comment or respond is because, outside of me choosing the topics, the boards are for you all.

As a reminder, the final paper assignment is due this Friday.

4/7/2004 Has it really been that long since the last announcements? Anyways, the lecture notes from Feb. 23 to March 24 have been moved to a separate page. The 2nd paper assignment, due on April 23, is posted on the assignments page. The 2nd midterm is completed and will be passed back in section on Friday. Finally, as you are already aware of, the Balance of Power reports are due this Friday, the 9th.

2/23/2004 I have moved Dr. Dinnerstein's lecture notes from January 21 to February 11 to a separate page to make room for the next set of handouts. The Community Homepage has been updated as we finally have a student brave enough to participate. Who's next? Also, the mid-terms and papers have been graded and will be passed back this Friday (2/27/04).

2/2/2004 New updates for website. A chat function has been added to the discussion board. Thus far, I have created a chat room so you can discuss the readings and assignments. As I mentioned in section, a student-led review session can be organized near exam time. Dr. Dinnerstein has supplied me with copies of some of his previously administered final exams and some questions to guide your analysis of Balance of Power. IMPORTANT POINT!! Dr. Dinnerstein informed me that he forgot to give readings for February 11. These have now been added to Dr. Dinnerstein's readings page

1/26/2004 New updates for class website for today include a link to the discussion portion of participation. In addition, you can link to Dr. Dinnerstein's lecture handouts now. I will upload the handouts when available. Also, the details for the first paper are here.

1/19/2004 The webpage is up! Please check in periodically for new announcements. Remember to do the readings for discussion sections to avoid the embarrassing event of being kicked out of section.
