After graduation, I attended Kanasas State Teacher
College (which later became Emporia State University). I graduated in
1974. I worked for the City of Emporia for a year and then moved back
to Junction City.
I have been teaching at Fort Riley Junior High school
(which became a middle school in 1990), since 1975. I have taught Math,
Reading, Science, Drama, Health, Shop, and Skills for Adolescence. I
am currently a physical education teacher. I have coached football,
wrestling, golf, and volleyball. I announce most of the Junction City
High School sporting events.
I'm married. My wife Carolyn, is a school nurse for
three grade schools in Junction City. She has helped with Boy Scouts
and has been the kids wrestling club president for the last four years.
My oldest son, Matt, is a freshman at Kansas State
University. In 1999 he was a wrestling state champion.
My middle son, Chris, is a senior at JCHS and works
at Wal-Mart. He has gone to state the last two years in wrestling.
My youngest son, Daniel, is a seventh grader at Fort
Riley Middle School. He plays lots of sports and is active in Scouts.
He hopes to reach the rank of Eagle Scout in the next 6 months.
When I'm not working or with the family, I try to go
camping, canoeing, or other outdoor activities with Scouts.
