Shortly after graduating from high school I joined
the Navy Reserve to avoid being drafted. I spent two years on active
duty with the Navy and started working Civil Service immediately after
my military service. I now have 28 years of service with Fort Riley
and am looking forward to "retiring" as a Planner/Estimator to my second
job. I am a licensed electrical contractor in Junction City and Manhattan
and will continue my pursuit of that career after retiring from civil
service.
I married Collette Fiffe in June of 1975 and we are
still happily married. Yes, that's Mr. Charles Fiffe's daughter. We
have five children, Dana born in 1977, Michelle (1984), Leslie (1990),
Nicole (1994), and our youngest, Steven (1997). Up until the birth of
our son, Steven, Collette had been employed as a French teacher at JCHS.
She now enjoys staying at home as a homemaker, we haven't decided which
was the more demanding occupation, they are both very rewarding.
