Mike McCormick

We have lived in Lawrence since the late 70's with my wife Mary. We have two children, Christy who is a Freshman at Fort Hays State and a son Aaron who passed away in 1997.

Since high school I have been in the Air Force and graduated with a Liberal Arts degree from the University of Kansas. I was a department store manager (Calhouns) until 1981. We then started at Kansas Power & Light (Western Resources) where I still work in the Purchasing Department as Manager of Procurement-Electrical. We live in Lawrence but work in Topeka. Mary works for Sprint PCS in Overland Park so Lawrence is a nice spot in between.

Outside of family & work, I love to travel. We go to lots of sporting events. We have been to 12 Super Bowl's, 5 Final Four's, 1 World Series, 1 Masters Tournament, numerous college bowl games and many PGA Tournaments. My wife sometimes attends with me, but for the most part is very understanding about my pastime. We want to go to the 2002 Winter Olymipic in Salt Lake City together. I play lots of golf, although I am not very good at the sport.
