My earliest memory of Harry is when I spent the night at his house, must have been around the sixth grade when he lived across from Brownies Drive-in on Jefferson (I think) We stayed up watching those cheesy sci-fi movies like "The Thing" and "It". The next morning when we got up, his Mom served us grits. I had never eaten grits before and I wasn't too fond of them. That was the longest breakfast I ever had. Harry, you will always be a part of my childhood.

Harry and I were friends in grade school. We would often get together just to roam the alleys of JC. We also played lots of baseball. Our friendship waned after I moved several blocks from his house. Harry was one of those friends you look back on and recall how simple and fun life once was. For his life to end in tragedy is a real shock. I will always remember summer nights of baseball with Harry and Junebugs in the lights at the ballfields.

I met Harry when I started my senior year at JCHS. We have been in contact ever since. Our wives work together, as a matter of fact, Linda (Harry's wife) introduced me to my wife. I think the most important thing I learned from Harry was to use my head. Stop, think and you can figure anything out. He was kind of like "Mr. Spock".
