After graduation I attended Kansas State for a semester
and then moved to Texas for a while. I moved back to Salina and attended
Brown-Mackie College where I earned a degree in Computer Science.
After graduating, I took a trip to South Carolina to
visit my folks and fell in love with the place. I have been living here
ever since. I have been working for the SC Dept. of Transportation for
the past 29 years in the Information Technology Department where I am
a Senior Manager in charge of IT security and facilities. I also administer
the agency's Electronic Document Management System.
I have been married to a wonderful wife and mother,
Linda, for 27 years. We have two children; Ronnie (24) who graduated
from the Univ. of South Carolina with a Masters in Accounting and is
employed by Arthur Anderson; and Pamela (19) who is a Sophomore at USC
majoring in Business.
I have been very active with youth sports in our area
since I moved here in 1972. I began working as an umpire for youth baseball
in 1973, but had to give it up when I began coaching at the High School
level in 1994. I also coached youth baseball, football, and softball
while my kids were going through. In 1994, I began coaching softball
at Brookland-Cayce High School as an assistant for the varsity team.
I am still doing that, and also assisted with the football team last
year. In my spare time, I passionately play golf.
This is a great idea and I have really enjoyed reading
about all the things y'all have been doing since graduation. Wish I
had found it sooner.
