Currently I am a Lecturer at The University of Arizona teaching four sessions of two courses: Spanish 350 Introduction to Literary Genre as well as Spanish 325 Advanced Spanish Grammar. I am originally from Veracruz, Mexico. I received my undergraduate degree in Communications from the University of Veracruz and, in spring 2005, I graduated with an M.A. in Spanish Language and Literature from Portland State University, where I taught for four years. After finishing my M.A., I taught as a visiting Instructor of Spanish at Lewis and Clark College for two years.

For the past 10 years I have taught Spanish in a variety of classroom and tutoring situations, including Spanish-language study groups in Mexico through http://www.veracruzworkshops.com/gies.html
