note: in recognition of the location of santafe, the north american regional science council has authorized a change in the traditional format of the north american meetings for 1998. participants should plan to schedule their arrival on wednesday november 11; paper sessions will be held beginning on thursday november 12 and continuing through all-day saturday november 14. sunday november 15 participants can either travel homeward or spend some extra time exploring the sights of northern new mexico, usa.

november 11, 1998 (wednesday)

• arrivals in santa fe
• 5:00 PM-9:00 PM: conference registration opens (la fonda mezzanine)

november 12, 1998 (thursday)

• all day (9:00 AM-6:00 PM): registration (la fonda mezzanine)
• 8:30-11:00 AM: rsai council meeting (by invitation only: la fonda, santafe room)
• 11:00 AM-1:30 PM (lunch): narsc council meeting (by invitation only: la fonda, santafe room)
• lunch: all other participants, on your own in downtown santafe
• 2:00-4:00 PM: concurrent paper sessions 1.1 - 1.10 (hotel loretto and la fonda meeting rooms)
• 4:00-4:30 PM: coffee break (la fonda mezzanine)
• 4:30-5:30 PM: plenary opening session featuring north american president's address (la fonda ballroom)
• 5:30-7:00 PM: reception for all conference participants sponsored by Ashgate publishing (la fonda ballroom)
• 7:00-9:00 PM (dinner): prsco council meeting (by invitation only: la fonda, santafe room)
• 7:00-9:00 PM (dinner): srsa executive council meeting (by invitation only: la fonda, room tba)

november 13, 1998 (friday)

• 8:00-10:00 AM: concurrent paper sessions 2.1 - 2.11 (hotel loretto and la fonda meeting rooms)

• 10:30 AM-12:30 PM: concurrent paper sessions 3.1 - 3.12 (hotel loretto and la fonda meeting rooms)
• lunch: on your own in downtown santafe
• 1:30 PM-3:30 PM: concurrent paper sessions 4.1 - 4.11 (la fonda and hotel loretto meeting rooms)
• 3:30-4:00 PM: coffee break (both hotels)
• 4:00-6:00 PM: concurrent paper sessions 5.1 - 5.10 (la fonda and hotel loretto meeting rooms)
• 6:15-8:30 PM: conference party for all participants in memory of Ben Stevens, sponsored by the western regional science association and the journal of regional science (hotel loretto, zuni ballroom)

november 14, 1998 (saturday)
