Professional Experience

Professor Pingry has been at the University of Arizona since 1974 where he has served in the Division of Economic and Business Research, the Department of Economics, and the Department of Management Information Systems.  He served as Acting Head of the Department of Economics from 1981-1984 and as the Head of the Department of Management Information Systems from 1992 - 1997.

Previously Professor Pingry was on the faculty at Virginia Tech and has held visiting faculty positions at Purdue University and Texas A&M.  From January of 2002 to August of 2003 he held the Treibick Visiting Endowed Chair in the Connecticut Information Technology Institute at the University of Connecticut.

Professor Pingry has taught graduate and undergraduate courses in the areas of management of information systems, IT strategy, decision support systems, project management, microeconomics, regional economics, and environmental economics. He received the MBA Faculty of the Year award in 1993. His research has been supported by the Electric Power Research Institute, US Geological Survey and the Arizona Corporation Commission.
