These photos are from a traverse of the Aros and upper Yaqui river valleys in Sonora Mexico during August 2005. We floated the river
from Natora on the Aros, to near Sahuaripa (El Rio) on the Yaqui. The purpose of this trip was to conduct baseline surveys of the biota
of the river canyon and its tributaries for the presence of birds, herpetofauna, mammals, woody plants, and aquatic invertebrates. This research was
was supported by T & E, Inc., and we thank Tom Wootten for his support. The Los Pavos Northern Jaguar Preserve granted access and
Lane Larson (Caimen Expeditions) provided logistical support. All photos here were taken by Chris O'Brien, Mike Bogan, or Samia
Carrillo-percastegui, and may not be used without permission.
