Nicole Pagowsky is a graduate of the ALA-accredited School of Information Resources & Library Science (SIRLS) M.A. program at the University of Arizona. She is currently serving as the Outreach Information Specialist for the Southwest Environmental Health Sciences Center Community Outreach & Education Core in the UA School of Pharmacy, providing outreach, reference, and web design services. Through SIRLS, work, and volunteer positions, Nicole has gained experience with virtual and face-to-face reference, web editing and design, instruction, cataloging, and has become proficient in myriad technology programs and applications.

Founding the UA chapter of Progressive Librarians Guild (PLG-UA) in January 2008, Nicole remained elected President through May 2009. Favoring promotion of collaboration and consensus since being formed, the group has worked together to organize numerous events and engage in public service. Nicole received the University of Arizona Graduate and Professional Student Council (GPSC) Outstanding Graduate/Professional Student Leadership Award for the 2008/2009 academic year for her excellence in leadership with PLG-UA, participation in other library student groups, and her contributions to SIRLS events. She was also awarded the SIRLS Outstanding Student Award presented at her May 2009 graduation ceremony; and most recently was nominated to Beta Phi Mu for scholastic achievement & leadership skills in Library and Information Studies.
