Mike Bruno

I'm a graduate student in philosophy and cognitive science at the University of Arizona. I used to be the coordinator for the Center for Consciousness Studies bi-weekly discussion forum. My research interests are mainly in the philosophy of mind. I have recently been thinking about topics such as the nature of perceptual experience, conceptual/nonconceptual content, monitoring theories of consciousness, the extended mind thesis, reduction/emergence, British Empiricism, and moral psychology. I'm currently toying around with dissertation topics.

I was born and raised in Chicagoland and spent my undergraduate years living in New York City while studying philosophy at New York University. I've recently also spent time as a visiting scholar at the Centre for Consciousness and the Philosophy Program of the RSSS at the Australia National University. I will be spending the 2006-2007 academic year as a visiting student of the philosophy department at UNC - Chapel Hill.
