Theoretical directions: Grammar and variation as semiotic, performance and pragmatics, social and cognitive representations of grammar and variation
Applications: Linguistic consultation with community language activism, development of best-practices theory for language revitalisation, pragmatics and sociolinguistics of rhetoric and propaganda for political and community-activist purposes
Sites and themes: Gender in the United States, accent in the United States, politics in the United States and Israel, race in Israel and on and around US Indian reservations, language revitalisation at Umóⁿhoⁿ Nation, language revitalisation with Panamanian Wounaan
