Justin RaffaChoir director Lyle Brown (call him L.B.)  is originally from Michigan where he received the B.A. degree in Music from Albion College, and the Master of Music degree in Choral Conducting from Western Michigan University, along with extensive doctoral coursework in choral conducting, voice and music education from Indiana University.

He has served as Director of Choirs at Oakland University in Rochester Michigan, as well as teaching public school in both Michigan and Indiana where he was active as an adjudicator and clinician.  He was a conducting fellow at the Dartmouth Conducting Institute, assistant director for the South Bend Chamber Singers and founding Music Director of Vox Humana, Detroit’s Chamber Choir.

L.B. has been in Tucson since 2006, with positions as Staff Singer/Soloist at St. Philip’s in the Hills Episcopal Church, Principal Tenor with Tucson Chamber Artists and occasional member of the Wieck Chamber Singers and Tucson Symphony Orchestra Chorus.  He has recently been appointed as director of choirs at Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Northwest Tucson.

L.B. is currently pursuing his degree in the DMA program in Choral Conducting at UA.
