Bio 94 TA Teaching Tools

I trained new graduate students in two departments (Ecology & Evolutionary Biology one year and Chemistry the next year) to be Teaching Assistants. As part of this program, I designed two full days of interactive, experiential workshops on the following topics:
Creating rubrics, grading, leading discussions and laboratories, conducting office hours, university and department policies and procedures.
I then implemented these workshops as part of the campus-wide Teaching Assistant Professional Development Program.

Here are a couple of the workshops that I wrote:

Developing Creative & Effective Lesson Plans (.doc)

Handouts:
VARK.pdf
Learning Objectives.pdf
Sample Lesson Plan.doc

Teaching Disabled Students (.doc)

Handouts:
Disabilities.pdf (5 handouts in 1 document)
Cards.doc
