Hello everybody my name is Kristen and I am a college freshman currently working towards my Bachelor's Degree in Guitar Performance. I have been playing classical guitar for 10 years and my desire is to be able to both teach the instrument and perform.Other interests that I have besides playing guitar are God, animals, and watching tv. I was born here in Tucson,Arizona, and have lived here all my life.
Coffee
What is coffee? Coffee is a popular drink which is derived from the coffee tree. It is so popular a resource that its retail value of US$70 billion surpasses the forecast of $56 billion for total US agricultural exports for 2003. It is said that coffee is the worlds most heavily traded commodity apart from oil.
Why is coffee so popular a resource? Because it contains a drug called caffeine. Any sort of drug whether harmful or not can be addictive. This drug, caffeine, belongs to a group of other drugs called xanthines. These types of drugs are those that have an effect on our nervous system. Coffee relieves tiredness, and improves efficiency and clarity of thought. No wonder it is so popular a resource.
