I'm a second year MA student in the Department of Geography and Regional Development here at the University of Arizona.

Before Tucson, I lived in State College, Pennsylvania, where I was born and spent the subsequent twenty-one years of my life. I love State College. It's never too hot, it rains, it snows, there are seasons! it's bustling and prosperous, yet small and safe and happy, etc, etc. It's full of  grass and trees and creeks and rabbits.  Ya know, pretty much the greatest little town. A fabulous place to grow up, and an even better place for the quintessential college experience. No complaints from me.

I graduated in May, 2006 from Penn State University, with a BS in Geography. I picked geography as a freshman because it had no chemistry requirement, but in the end, I  pretty much love it. And so here I am, seeking advanced degrees in the field. But as it turns out, while I like geography, I'm not really into reading, writing, thinking, or discussing. Which is a shame.

But I'm happy here in the Old Pueblo. Even though the place is kind of crumbling to the ground. But Tucson has personality, and I've made a lot of good friends here. And, I can buy beer at the grocery store.

My current life plan is to get a PhD in Geography and then become an independently wealthy part-time tour guide. I might have missed the boat already on the independently wealthy part (though you the old saying: if it's money you're after, grad school in Geography is the way to go), but I'm not one to give up on my dreams. Unless they get to hard to reach.
