Tucson, located in the Sonoran Desert, is surprisingly beautiful. To the north of Tucson are the Catalina mountains; to the east are the Rincon mountains. My family and I live on the west side of Tucson, at the foothills of the Tucson Mountains, in a house that my wife and I had built in 1995. During the day we have views of the Catalinas across the valley. At night we have views of the city lights all the way from downtown up to Oro Valley.
We have two small children, Sarah and Andrew.
In the 2001-2002 academic year I was a visiting professor at the Department of Economics at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
