Other Races: Lith-Igno Regime |
||||
The Lith-Igno Regime is an intensly militeristic empire that has built its base of power through the subjugation of it enemies. Before taking to the stars the Lith and the Igno were the two largest nations on their planet which allied together, conquering anyone that did not join them. Once their entire planet was under their control the new Lith-Igno Regime began to expand into near-by systems. Nearly three decads after the Lith-Igno began colonizing other solar systems they encountered a system inhabited by a people calling themselves the Cuth'belnor. During a short war the Lith-Igno captured the system sparking a larger war with their neighbors, now calling themselves the Cuth'lin Alliance. As the war dragged on two of the planets were re-captured by the Cuth'lin Alliance until hostilities ground to a halt. The reason for this was the the Lith-Igno had encountered another species on the other side of their borders calling themselves the Gathrinar Federation. The Lith-Igno Regime is an etremely oppressive government whose power is enforced by several agencies that police the civilian populace and root out any dissention, something that is punishable by death. Lith-Igno ships are not very remarkable. They are fairly boxy ships that don't even have artificial gravity forcing large sections of the hull to spin to provide gravity. What they may lack in amenities on-board they make up for in weapons. Larger ships have massive beam weapons mounted to the spine of the ship that are comperable to several blasts from a Dragonian particle beam cannon. Aside from the Cuth'lin Alliance and the Gathrinar Federation the only other empire the Lith-Igno have come in contact with is the Aroñi Confederacy, who were not impressed by the brutality of the Lith-Igno Regime. |

This is an example of a Lith-Igno heavy cruisor. Measuring in at just over 900 meters these ships have a fair amount of weapons. Visible on this model are the two spinal mounted particle beam cannons, six missile tubes, 13 duel turreted heavy rail-guns. To ward off fighters the ship also sports 52 turreted turbo-lasers. The two circular outer sections, as well as the circular inner portion are the parts that rotate to produce the gravity needed. Check out a tour around the Lith-Igno Ship (3.1 Mb). A 1024x768 desktop picture of the ship (136kb) is also available. |

The Lith-Igno fighters follow a similar theme to their carriers, the heavy cruisers, which carry 20 of these fighters (seen right). The outer section of the fighter spins, while this doesn't provide any gravity to the pilot in the centre section it does shield the pilot from attacks. The outer section also has several maneuvering thrusters as well as 4 additional laser cannons and 2 extra missile launchers. If severaly damaged the outer section can be jettisoned allowing the central cockpit to potentially escape back to the main ship.
These models were made by me in Bryce. |
