Dragon Aspects

The dragons of the ruqhnah world were once large, fearsome creatures that roamed the forests and mountains. Seven different breeds of dragons were present on the ruqhnah homeworld until the time of the Second War of Power. To Dragonian researches and animal researchers it would appear that some of the dragon breeds were not naitive to their homeworld. The coloured dragons and fire wyrms appear to have been naitive while the larger metallic dragons seem to have origianally come from some other place or dimension.

Ruqhnah History:

The sentiant metallic dragons inhabiting the world eventually calmed their feral kind and taught the developing ruqhnah tribes how to tame and train the different dragon breeds in their regions of the world. On the Western Continent winged dragons roamed while smaller wingless fire wyrms lived in the forests west of the Icatia Mountains on the Eastern Continent. Aside from flight another difference between dragons and the fire wyrms is while there are three different species of dragons; red, blue and green, there is only one species of fire wyrm, red.

Compared to the ruqhnah the dragons are significantly larger in size

As suggested in the image dragonriders ride in a saddle slung around the lower neck of the dragon. Reins attach to horns on the head of the dragon allowing the rider to direct the dragon, although this is only used early on since dragons and their riders somehow evolve a type of empathic link allowing them to communicate with each other.

The head of a dragon is a well armed and armoured portion of the body. Hard bone encompasses much of the top of the dragon's head while several boney spikes form a ring of protection around the dragon's neck. Two smaller boney spikes grow out just above the two nostrol on the dragon's head while a single horn forms in the middle of the creature's snout. Two smaller additional horns grow out from the chin, just at the edge of the mouth.

As large as they are the dragons have large, strong wings that are able to carry them several hundred pounds of additianal wieght be it rider or prey. The wing has a single spike and four small boney supports meaning it was at one point an arm that evolved into a wing, something else that seperates them from fire wyrms since their extra arms evolved away.
