Woodwork: Caged Ball |
||
The caged ball
is a classic woodcarving project that involves carving a ball in a cage out
of a solid block of wood. There are several ways to actually carve the caged
ball but the plannign is usually pretty much the same. This caged ball was
carved entirely by hand; no power tools were used to speed up the process.

| I must admit
that the piece of wood I chose for this cage and ball wasn't exactly
the greatest piece of wood but in the end I think it turned out
fairly well. Another short coming were the four bars of the cage, they
are all
a bit thin and should have been made thicker but in general it has
not affected the cage.
