Blacksmithing

I've always held a great fascination for blacksmithing ever since I visited the Ren Fair when I was much younger. During the 2004 summer Camp Geronimo finally got a forge for the Metal Working merit badge and I finally got to do some hot forging on a real anvil, boy it was great. Since the class only had a week to get through a lot of material we spent very little time, unfortuantly, on the forge but what we did do involved forging screwdrivers out of a piece of square bar stock. Even with just that little piece I wish I could actually train with a blacksmith. Aside from that I've also picked up the art of making chain mail from one of my friends from Geronimo, Kit Pickens. He showed me the basics and I took things from there and after god knows how long I finished a nice little coif that fits me rather well and have now started on the Hauberk.
