Robotech

Robotech was the very first pen and paper RPG that I played. For the most part I played this with my two older brothers and some of their friends for quite some time.

Robotech, like Rifts, takes place in the near future when during another world war an alien space ship crashes into an uninhabited island. The aliens that built the ship eventually come looking for it sparking the first Robotech War against the Zentradi and their Robotech Masters.

After the war a new understanding actually allows for a treaty between humanity and the Robotech masters, however piece does not last for long as an insecticoid race called the Invid come to Earth looking for their stolen Flower of Life, something the Robotech Masters stole and is key to the production of protoculture, the source of all of their power.

Swarming in the millions the Invid attack the Earth, now the only place where the Flower of Life will grow. With Earth under the control of the Invid the only free humans left are part of the REF, the Robotech Expiditionary Force. Depending on what you want your character to be or the GM wants to do there are actually three different ways to play the game.

The first is back during the Zentradi War as a new pilot defending Earth. The second is later during the Invid War as a member of the REF or as a member of the human resistance against the Invid back on Earth.
