Dungeons and Dragons

Dungeons and Dragons, while one of the oldest and widely known RPG games ever, was first introduced to me through the computer game Pools of Radience. The game used the first edition Advanced Dungeons and Dragons rules and included the ever so confusing THAC0 (To Hit Armour Class 0). Now-a-days D&D has changed so much between the 2nd edition rules and the new 3rd edition, which Neverwinter Nights uses, that old characters are hard to convert.

D&D has always been a game where the world doesn't matter, however sometimes it does. There are many worlds out there that people use and, to me, the most widely used is the map for the Forgotten Realms, the world of Pools of Radience, Neverwinter Nights, Eye of the Beholder and the Baldur's Gate series. I did find a map of the world posted on-line. Please note this was not my original work.

I don't remember where I found this but the same place also had larger pieces of the world, divided as seen, that I was able to use to make a rather large map allowing for excellent detail. Since the map itself is almost 40 megs I'm not going to post it here but I did manage to edit down a bit to make a smaller version that still has pretty decent detail. Click on the above image to bring up the larger map in a seperate window.

Dungeons and Dragons is now a product of Wizards of the Coast.
