I am a fifth-year PhD student in the Philosophy Department at the University of Arizona. My area of specialization is political philosophy.
I am writing a dissertation on state legitimacy, territory, and secession under the supervision of Tom Christiano and Jerry Gaus. Other projects include papers on moral epistemology and sufficientarianism. I also have a strong interest in philosophical issues surrounding the justification of punishment.
My other interests include:
- topics in political philosophy: liberalism, civic republicanism, rights, perfectionism, freedom
- topics in the philosophy of law: philosophy of criminal law, the concept of law
- normative ethics, especially virtue ethics
- the history of moral and political philosophy
