Justin Tosi

PhD Candidate

I am a sixth-year PhD candidate in the Philosophy Department at the University of Arizona. My area of specialization is political philosophy.

I am writing a dissertation on state legitimacy, territory, and secession under the supervision of Tom Christiano and Jerry Gaus.  Sometimes I take breaks from that project to work on papers on moral epistemology and philosophy and literature. I also have a strong interest in philosophical issues surrounding the justification of punishment.
