The Soft Tissue Biomechanics Laboratory (STBL) is focused on solving biomedically-related problems using state of the art experimental and computational techniques in biomechanics. The STBL has specific interests in the area of constitutive modeling of soft tissues including but not limited to native tissues, tissue engineered biomaterials, and medical devices. We are also interested in identifying structure-function relationships within healthy and diseased tissues. Specific areas of research include aneurysm mechanics, ocular mechanics, porohyperelasticity of soft tissues, and in the development of polymeric and tissue engineered biomedical devices.
