My research is focused on intergroup
communication processes: Specific areas of interest include Intergroup
theory (including Social Identity Theory) as applied to all realms of
communication, Intergenerational
communication (including grandparent-grandchild relationships), and intergroup
contact.
A lot of my recent work has focused on intergroup contact.
Here’s a link to a paper on contact
theory which outlines what I call the “contact space.”
A large number of pdf’s of my
published papers can be found here.
A complete vita is available here.

I have published a book on communication
and aging, and co-edited two books on intergroup communication. Click on the
