Michelle Jenkins

Welcome
Hello!  I’m Michelle Jenkins.  I’m a seventh year graduate student at the University of Arizona.  I’m originally from North Pole, Alaska and completed my undergraduate work at Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

My primary area of study is ancient philosophy with a particular focus on issues in Plato’s epistemology and methodology.  I am currently working on a dissertation on Plato’s conception of the philosopher.

μάλα γὰρ φιλοσόφου τοῦτο τὸ πάθος, τὸ θαυμάζειν: οὐ γὰρ ἄλλη ἀρχὴ φιλοσοφίας ἢ αὕτη...

For this is an experience which is characteristic of a philosopher, this wondering: this is where philosophy begins and nowhere else.
