About Me
I just began my postdoctoral work with Dr. Kim Cobb in the School of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at Georgia Tech as an NSF-EAR Postdoctoral Fellow in September 2011.
I received my PhD from the Department of Geosciences at The University of Arizona.
I grew up in rural western New York state, and received my BA from the College of Wooster in Wooster, Ohio.
I am a climate scientist, and my research involves reconstructing past environmental and climatic change on interannual to millennial timescales using lake sediment records. I also examine modern climate variability, since understanding the dynamics of the climate system is key to correct interpretations of past climate from paleoclimate archives. One of the main goals of my research is to combine a sound understanding of climate dynamics with spatiotemporal data analysis and paleolimnologic data to produce more quantitative estimates of past climate change from lake sediments. My research areas include the tropical Pacific, the Tibetan Plateau, and western North America.
