Required Texts & Materials
There is no textbook for this course. You will be responsible
for printing some materials from e-reserve and others, perhaps,
from a course website. You are recommended to have a writing handbook
that you use (I can suggest a few). A good dictionary is also
required.
To supplement these materials and other materials, I will lecture
periodically and class notes from these lectures, as well as discussions
and activities that we have, need to be kept for use in future
assignments.
In our class, you should expect to engage in quite a bit of computer
work this semester. The main form of communication as well as
planning and production of documents will rely on the computer.
Thus, in order to participate fully in the course, you should
be able to use Microsoft Office Applications, such as Word and
PowerPoint. Familiarity with Netscape Communicator or Internet
Explorer is also needed for locating resources. Finally, you will
need an email program which allows you to send and receive email
attachments during computer class sessions.
