Her research and teaching interests focus on early literacy and language development; issues relating to languages, literacies, and immigration in and out of school contexts. Her longitudinal study with Mexican immigrant families in Southern Arizona focuses on early biliteracy development in connection to parents' language and literacy practices at home and by preschool teachers at school.

Lucinda Soltero
Her research and teaching interests focus on bilingualism and biliteracy, bilingual special education, and multicultural children’s literature. Lucinda is currently an assistant professor at the University of Colorado at Boulder.
