I am an Assistant Professor at the Department of East Asian Studies, and an affiliated Assistant Professor at the Department of Anthropology at the University of Arizona.

 

My research and teaching interests include Chinese popular culture and media studies. I approach them from the perspectives of globalization (not only practices but also various critiques of them), modernity (qualitatively new times), and justice (or the quest for truth as the indiscernible via the work of Alain Badiou).
