Promoted to C.O.II in Nov. 1976, and to C.O.III in Dec. 1979. Under general supervision, I function as a senior operator directing and assisting the activities of junior level personnel. Also act in behalf of the supervisor as needed. Duties include: Monitored central consoles of Control Data Cyber 175, Dec-10 running dual CPU's, three VAX 11/780's and an 11/750; Control operating system parameters as needed; Monitor an IDX 3000 communications network and inter-computer links; Perform daily and weekly backups; Perform file restores. Operate peripheral equipment, (printers, tape drives, disk drives, and a Calcomp plotter); Maintained tape library and the on-line data base; Monitor remote site operations, (terminals and printers); Responsible for security of equipment and data; Some contact with users involving job control, error messages, and use of appropriate supporting documentation.
