Spring 2002
- ECE 678 Integrated
Telecommunications Networks
Analysis and design of integrated voice, data, and image networks for integrated
telecommunications applications. Protocols for LANs, ISDNs, WANs, MANs and interoperable
networks. ISO-based network software design for applications.
- ECE 535 Digital
Communication Systems I
Digital modulation for the additive white Gaussian noise channel, emphasizing
optimal demodulation, and analysis of error rates.
- ECE 578
Fundamentals of Computer Networks
Introduction to computer networks and protocols. Study of the ISO open systems
interconnection model, with emphasis on the physical, data link, network, and
transport layers. Discussion of IEEE 802, OSI, and Internet protocols. Graduate-level
requirements include additional homework and assignments.
- MIS 538
Software Agents and Multi-Agent Systems
This course covers design, implementation, and anaylsis of software agents and
multi-agent systems. It emphasizes theoretical foundations of agent-based computing
and hands-on system building. Graduate-level requirements include an additional
project, those taking MIS 538 are expected to work in small groups to implement
a multi-agent system, turn in a substantial term project report, and present
and demonstrate their implemented system in class.
- SIE 685
Advanced Topics in Robotics and Automation
Selected topics covering recent advances in robotics and automation, to be chosen
from a list including applications, kinematics, dynamics, tactile sensing, vision
and intelligent systems.
