This course is designed as an upper division reading course in American foreign policy.  The course will discuss the foreign policy process, a brief history of American foreign policy, the inputs and outputs that make up foreign policy, and a variety of approaches to understanding foreign policy.  The goal of the course is to provide students with the theoretical and analytical tools needed to be intelligent consumers of foreign policy.  The course will incorporate current events in American foreign policy as a means of demonstrating the academic concepts of the course in practice.
