My current research is focused on the 'explanatory gap' between consciousness and the physical world. I utilize both traditional philosophical analysis and results from empirical psychology, as well as some 'experimental philosophy.' Besides consciousness, I'm interested in what science tells us about sub-personal psychological mechanisms, and the resulting implications for various issues in metaphysics, epistemology, and ethics. Consequently, I spend a lot of time thinking about philosophical methodology, particularly the relationship between philosophical and scientific methods.
