The Corral Laboratory was established in August 2008 at The University of Arizona. We focus on processing advanced high-temperature resistant materials and developing an understanding of their mechanical and thermal properties at temperature for application in extreme environmental conditions. Specifically, we conduct research on ultra-high temperature ceramics (UHTCs) and composites, UHTC coatings, multifunctional high-temperature ceramic nanocomposites, and oxide ceramic composites.
